In honor of Utah Book Month, I’ve got some fun title puzzles for you :)
Opposite Utah Book Titles
Here’s how it works. I’ve taken titles of books by Utah authors and changed each word to be the exact opposite.
For example:
Bird Boy would really be Goose Girl by Shannon Hale.
Here are some hints:
- Each opposite title will have the same number of words as the original title.
- All of the titles are of books by authors who live in Utah.
- I won’t change words like “the, and, a, is, it” etc. (like “Here with the Breeze” would be “Gone with the Wind”)
Good luck!
- The Life Disease
- Differed
- Land Give
- Fall of the Morning Sun
- The Found Sinner

Way cool! I’m still trying to guess one of them (just for fun), but I think I have the rest of them. :)
Jessica B says
Which one are you stuck on? I’m curious :)
Penelope Lolohea says
I’m stuck on #3. I swear, it’s going to be something so obvious once I get it, but I’m back with a fresh mind and still can’t get it. Hahaha.
Kathryn @ Clean Teen Fiction says
This was fun! #3 was super hard for me, but I finally found it! Victory! lol
Jessica B says
Wow way to go on getting them all! :)

These are so fun! #3 was tough for me, too. But I like it when I get to try to make something up. :)
Great idea for a challenge!
Jessica B says
THAT is a good idea! I had never thought of people making up their own title puzzles. I am so going to do that :)
Enna Isilee says
Question: is bird the opposite of goose? ;) The only one I can’t get is #2… partially because I’m not sure what you mean by “Differed.” But this is fun!
Jessica B says
LOL Boy is obviously the opposite of Girl and Goose Girl starts with two G’s so I figured Bird fit well with both since they both start with B and it’s kind of a clue to the real answers. I stick clues in there whenever I can.
If you want a hint for Differed it’s a book I KNOW that you’ve read :)
Kathryn @ Clean Teen Fiction says
I used google. LOL! I found wordhippo.com and typed in differed in the find opposite box. You’ll recognize the title from there. That was the only title that site worked for though so it’s not cheating too bad is it?!
Jenni Elyse says
I did my best, but I couldn’t for the life of me figure out 3 and 4. At least I got 1, 2, and 5. :) That was fun!
Jessica says
Super fun challenge, Jessica. Thank you so much for hosting it.

Awesome challenge!

Number 3 took me forever! I kept trying to use the wrong opposite for the second word but I got them all!
