Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
Waiting for the next book in a series is half the fun of reading. Harry Potter was 10 times better because of the anticipation. I hope that Crossed is as good as the first book. I have a feeling that it will have “middle book syndrome”* or a serious cliffhanger at the end. Why is the cover blue this time? Will it be significant? Why is she wearing a leotard instead of a dress? Does she get cut by that glass? I guess I’ll have to wait to find out.
Series: Matched #2
Release Date: November 1, 2011
*Middle book syndrome – The middle book in the series that doesn’t have enough story to stand on it’s own. It acts as a bridge between the introduction and the conclusion. See also The Empire Strikes Back.
p.s. Thanks to Logan E. Turner for the term “middle book syndrome.”
