Rule #3: Don't stare at invisible faeries.
Aislinn has always seen faeries. Powerful and dangerous, they walk hidden in the mortal world. Aislinn fears their cruelty - especially if they learn of her Sight - and wishes she were as blind to their presence as other teens. Suddenly none of the rules that have kept Aislinn safe are working anymore, and everything is on the line: her freedom; her best friend, Seth; her life; everything.
A gripping page-turner that was part romance, part suspense like someone had taken Tolkien and made it modern, dark and edgy. It tells the story of faeries in a traditional sense – that they aren’t part of our world and humans don’t belong in their world, either. These faeries aren’t necessarily evil and out do to harm, but there is a haunting strangeness to them that leaves you curious and frightened at the same time. The conflict was amazingly done. You could feel the main character’s world spinning out of control and the more she ran away and ignored her problems, the more you felt like fate was taking over. However, the ramped up conflict left me feeling mostly disturbed and not in a hurry to pick up the rest of the series. I liked the world she created and the writing, but it will be a while before I read the rest of them.
Content Rating: Medium, for drug references and a very suggestive scene.
