Evie's always thought of herself as a normal teenager, even though she works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she's falling for a shape-shifter, and she's the only person who can see through paranormals' glamours. But Evie's about to realize that she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy...So much for normal.
I found myself alternately heart broken at Evie’s life and laughing at the way she looked at it. I felt like laughing and crying at the same time throughout the whole thing. Kiersten White’s writing style was utterly unique and very entertaining. I can’t remember the last time that I read something so wonderfully sarcastic and witty. The world she created felt so natural like it must exist. The teenagers acted like real teenagers and the characters are beautifully complex. Evie was such an endearing character that I found her immediately likable. It had a slight X-men flavor to it (very slight), but that’s the only thing I can think of that it reminds me of. Oh, and she takes a few light-hearted stabs at Twilight that made me giggle.
Content Rating: Mild, for a tiny bit of violence.
