Basically, I’m going to spend the weekend doing technical stuff that I’ve been neglecting! There’s tutorials and mini-challenges so if there’s something you’ve been wondering how to do, go check it out!
I’m going to update this list as I go and hopefully I will be able to cross all of them off by the end of the weekend.
My to do list:
Add stats since GFC has gone away – like a hit-counter and a feedburner chicklet with my number of subscribers. And maybe a bloggoversary one, too. Find out what other stats people display on their blogs.I added stats to my Policies page. I think that’s good for now :)Add Twitter follower button that shows how many twitter followers I have.Twitter no longer does this :(Expand my follow icons to include tumblr and email. Learn the html required to do this.DONE!- Add WordPress plugins like
cacheing, seo, social bookmarking – find one that works with pinterest (I have Digg Digg right now),login protection, comment system, backup, maintanence,Broken Link Checker, contact me, and Link Within.Print Friendly, I added some of these plugins when I migrated my hosting. Only one plugin left! I need to find a good one. Look into apps for my facebook page. I don’t know if I’ll find anything easy and worth adding to my page, but we’ll see – Look into the Facebook mini-challenge.Already doing everything for the Facebook mini-challenge. Go me :DWrite a more detailed review policy. See Squeaky Books for the mini-challenge.DONE!Add all social media links to my about page including Amazon and Pinterest. Or maybe have a Contact Page and a Policy Page.I’ve got a Policies page now and I’ve added all my social media links to my About Me page including Pottermore! YES!Change Blogs I Read page to Links and add more widgets there from sidebar.DONE!Add Google Ads to my RSS feed. I accidentally signed up for two accounts, so I don’t think this will get done anytime soon. I haven’t the slightest clue how to contact google and tell them to cancel one of my accounts. From what I understand, I’ll have to start a whole new feed to put ads in my RSS feed and emails which I so do not want to do. I guess I’ll have to monetize another way.

UPDATE: Friday evening.
SO… I got a lot done. Look at me being all ambitious and productive. :D I only have one thing left on my to-do list. I’m going to try and find a good social bookmarking plugin tomorrow. I’ll try Sharebar first.
And I think I’ll look into BlogAds as well as add a few Amazon ads to my sidebar since the Google Ads are giving me a headache.

You have gotten quite a bit completed – good for you.
Alas, I wish I could say the same here, but the weekend is not over. I am glad that I have done what I have.

So sad about Twitter not doing that anymore. That would be cool to show on your blog. I guess they figure people will see it if they come to your profile. But, that’s an extra step, people! Don’t they understand that most of us are lazy Internet users?! LOL. It looks like you’ve made some good headway on your goals. Great job!
