Waiting on Wednesday: Insignia by S.J. Kincaid

July 4, 2012 By Jessica Filed Under: Waiting on Wednesday 12 Comments

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

Technically, I’m reading this book right now so I’m not really “waiting” for it.  I requested it on Edelweiss but I didn’t think that I’d actually get approved!  The description compares it to Ender’s Game and The Maze Runner.  Those are some high stakes! Can’t wait to see if it lives up to those books.  Ender’s Game and Maze Runner are some of my favorite science fiction.

Release Date: July 10, 2012

Series: Insignia #1

Book Cover for Insignia by S.J. Kincaid

I am like.. z0mg DYING to read this book!  Seriously, I’m so antsy.  But I’m psyched because I’m going to a Dark Days Tour stop on the 10th and S.J. Kincaid will be there!  I kind of wish I could read the book before meeting her, but oh well :P

I hope you LOVE the book!  I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about it :)

It was slow at first, but it’s picking up now.  I’m about 80 pages in and the characters are great.

I hope you end up loving this one! And that it ends up distinguishing itself from Ender’s Game a bit more. I’ve not read Ender’s Game myself, but I get the impression that Insignia probably has quite a bit more humour.

This does sound like a good read, but I just started it and I’m having a hard time getting into it… but I think I’ll keep pushing through since it seems that you’re enjoying it :) I hope it continues one for you! Enjoy!!!
