Waiting on Wednesday: Scarlet by Marissa Meyer

September 26, 2012 By Jessica Filed Under: Waiting on Wednesday 20 Comments

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

Cinder, the first book in this series, was an AWESOME sci-fi/post-apocalyptic re-telling of Cinderella and I can’t wait for more! Scarlet is set in the same world, but re-tells Red Riding Hood this time.  Sci-fi, fairy tales and re-tellings are my top favorite genres.  Marissa gets bonus points for blending all three together so well.  And the cover is so pretty!  What else is there to say!? It can’t get here fast enough.

Release Date: February 5, 2013

Series: Lunar Chronicles #2

seen this a few times, I want to read it too, :)
    Here is mine
I grabbed your button, and put you in my blog list in sidebar, so I see updates. I didn’t see any way to follow that i do, rss is something I do not look at, so no need on that one. Didn’t see a Linky or GFC
    Anyway, here is my post.

I can’t have GFC since my blog is WordPress and stupid google shut it down for me. And I can’t figure out Linky. I have email too if you like getting blogs that way. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

I don’t follow with email anymore, I started to get more than 500 emails a morning from them, I fianally got them all unsubscribed, and when I did that, each one I would manually place in my blog list on sidebar, so I could see the updates, (as so many were wordpress)
I don’t use readers or anything either, as they never display right, and neither does the email ones, all email ones do is slow down your traffic to your blog, as no one comes to it anymore, I rather no one follow email, as I have my own email in the list, and they never show correctly, and the giveaways don’t show the rafflecopter either.
They should have a universal follow (well Linkys and Network Blogs are) Network blogs is the best of them, wish more people used it. I also had to add the Bloglovin way, as some people use it, I hate having 6-7 different ways to follow, and it sucks as advertisers, and publishers for ARC want to know how many followers, its hard to know without GFC, which is almost 600 for me, but then add the other few hundred from other ways, lol
Its all complicated. But I do have you in my Bloglist, and thats one i check everyday, so I will see your updates and will visit often. :)
I have a blog button if you want, and Linkys is easy to sign up, so is Network blogs, (which is better) Here is Network Blogs, you just
place widget in sidebar after signing up http://www.networkedblogs.com
        Thanks for the response

I don’t really like Networked Blogs. They work similar to GFC, but they are essentially stealing your page views whenever someone goes to your site through them. I haven’t found a really good way to replace GFC yet. Oh well. I hope something good will come up soon!

I have to be honest, and this is coming from a huuuge fairytale retelling fan, I haven’t had the desire to pick up Cinder yet – gasp! I know! There has to be something wrong with me, lol!
Scarlet sounds so much better! Maybe I’ll get into it closer to it’s release ;)
Hope you get to it soon! Enjoy!
