Mailbox Monday ~42~

February 23, 2013 By Jessica Filed Under: In My Mailbox 11 Comments

Mailbox Monday is where I show all the books I’ve gotten by various means throughout the week. Mailbox Monday was originally hosted by Marcia from A girl and her books and The Printed Page. This is a touring meme.  You can check out the main site for the full schedule.   February’s host is Unabridged Chick.

I’m also going to link up with a similar meme called Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga’s Reviews :)

Since I LOVE book cover art on my kindle, I took my own pictures of the covers of my ebooks.

Valentine’s Day is my favorite holiday, so my husband got me a new Kindle Paperwhite since the light on my Kindle Keyboard is broken.  I miss the buttons on my old kindle, but the cover-to-wake feature is pretty darn awesome. Also I think he got tired of me stealing his kindle :)  I didn’t like the Paperwhite at first, but I think it’s growing on me.  I might write a review for it soon.  But if I never do, just FYI that the sponsered ad version SUCKS. You have to swipe the screen every time you open the cover which defeats the whole purpose of the cover-to-wake feature.

He also got me the cutest purple cover for it.

False Prince and Taken look really good. I’ve been dying to read both of those. Congrats on the Kindle. I’ve been dying to get one. Thanks for sharing.

    Here’s my book haul.

I got Taken from Edelweiss a while ago as well, haven’t gotten around to reading it yet though. It seems really good!
Congrats on getting the Kindle white! And thanks for stopping by :)

Hello Secret Santa from Broke and Bookish like 2 months ago. Thank you for your gift of Insurgent, book mark and Harry Potter wand pen, which is like my favorite pen to date. My husband gets tired of me waving it at him. Yes, a bit embarrassing that it has taken me so long to thank you, but I hope youre going to see it my way.. better late then never?

I also got a kindle paperwhite for Christmas…. I love that I can read in the dark, also miss my buttons, and do not like that my homescreen is half covered with ads.

I follow Kaleb on youtube and although I haven’t read Harken yet, I plan too.
Thanks again, Erlynn (your newest follower)

Hey Erlynn!!! It’s so awesome to hear from you! :) I’m am so glad you like the wand pen. I totally want one. Have you read Insurgent yet? I loved it.

Did you get the ad version of the paperwhite? Because you can turn off all the ads on the homescreen except for the small banner ad at the very bottom if you have the ad version. From the home screen go to Settings>Device Options>Personalize your kindle and toggle the recommended content button to off. I hated that thing taking up my homescreen, too.

I don’t watch Kaleb on YouTube but I loved his Twilight Guy blog :)

I’ve heard the BEST things about The False Prince, though I haven’t read it yet myself… but it should be good! I also have Taken for review and am looking forward to reading it soon. I would definitely be curious to read a review of the Kindle Paperwhite!
