Top Ten Tuesday (7): Series I’d Like to Start But Haven’t Yet

March 5, 2013 By Jessica Filed Under: Top Ten Tuesday 18 Comments

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish with a different theme every week.

Top Ten Series I’d Like to Start But Haven’t Yet

Covers are links that go to Goodreads if you decide you want a longer TBR today :)

A Great and Terrible Beauty (Gemma Doyle, #1)

10. Gemma Doyle Series by Libba Bray

I love historical fiction! So why haven’t I started this yet?

Legend (Legend, #1)

9. Legend Series by Marie Lu

I’ve heard good things about this one.  It sounds a lot like The Hunger Games, but I think it will be different enough that I would like it.

Beautiful Creatures (Caster Chronicles, #1)

8. Caster Chronicles by Kami Garcia

Since the movie is coming out, it might be fun to give it a try.

Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1)

7. Across the Universe Series by Beth Revis

I honestly don’t know why I haven’t read these most-talked about Sci-Fi books!

The Strange Case of Origami Yoda (Origami Yoda #1)

6. Origami Yoda Series by Tom Angleberger

I see these at the store all the time and their adorableness is off the charts.  Maybe I’ll get them for my kids to read someday…in like 3 years. I’ll just keep them nice until then :)

Unearthly (Unearthly, #1)

5. Unearthly Series by Cynthia Hand

I haven’t read much angel mythology and every seems to love these books.

The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle, #1)

4. The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater

It sits there all pretty and signed on my shelf just waiting to be read.

Uglies (Uglies, #1)

3. Uglies Series by Scott Westerfield

I feel like the last person on the planet who hasn’t read this series.  It looks awesome and I’m dying to read it! Why don’t I have more time?!

Delirium (Delirium, #1)

2. Delirium Series by Lauren Oliver

Another awesome series that everyone is talking about.  I even have the first book on my kindle!

Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #1)

1. Daughter of Smoke and Bone Series by Laini Taylor

It physically pains me that I haven’t read this yet! It seems like exactly my kind of book.  Maybe if I put it off a little longer, I can read the whole series all at once.  That’s the only advantage to waiting and my only consolation when I haven’t read a book in a series that I’m dying to read.

What are your top ten series that you haven’t started yet? Leave me a link and I’ll come look!

The Uglies series made my list too. There are so many other series on your list, though, that I wanted to add. Alas! Too many good series to choose from!

Alot of series listed here that are on mine too; Delirium, Legend, Across the Universe (which I’m starting tonight YAY!). Lots of great series listed here that I also need to get around to reading such as The Uglies series. Great list, hope you get around to reading some of these soon :)

I need to read Uglies too and start the Raven Boys. Although I hate starting a new series when only one book is out. That just means years of waiting to find out the end. I really liked Legend, a boys POV in a dystopian was a really nice change.
    Excellent list! :)

Love the list, I have them on my TBR pile as well. I adored AtU series and cannot wait for the rest, dystopia is one of my favorite genres.

Thanks for stopping by, happy reading!

Delirium and Daughter of Smoke and Bone are both wonderful(especially Delirium, it’s one of my favorites ever). I was incredibly nervous about Daughter of Smoke and Bone but it won me over right away!

Where to start! Uglies is my all time favorite series (Extras, #4 is skipable). I couldn’t get into Daughter of Smoke and Bone so I tried it on audio and fell in love. Loved The Raven Boys (I was not a fan of Shiver at all, but this one won me back), and Legend is a solid dystopian read. Just finished Prodigy and it was great! Finally, all things Libba Bray rock. Thanks for stopping by, now go get reading!

Daughter of Smoke and Bone is a must. The Raven Boys wasn’t my favorite Maggie Stiefvater book at all. I recently read Unearthly and liked it a lot until the ending and at this point I’m not sure if I’m going to like the direction it’s headed in. And The Caster Chronicles, well I pretty much hated book 2, but I do plan to finish the series!

I love Legend and Across the Universe. They’re both great series. I also want to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone and Uglies. Uglies has been around for a while, and I still haven’t gotten around to reading them. Great list!

The Origami Yoda series is so popular at my library. The books are always checked out. They do look super cute.

I need to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone and Legend too!

I wasn’t a fan of Across the Universe or the Delirium series. Legend, Unearthly & The Raven Boys are all great though. Happy reading!

Yep, we have lots in common. I really enjoyed The Raven Boys, but Maggie S. is one of my favorite author’s so I’m biased. Thanks for visiting my TTT

There are some good reads there! Legend (and the sequel Prodigy) would be my first picks. They are fun, exciting and you’ll whip through them in no time!

Hey, there! I’ve read quite a few of these – and until now I can only recommend the Delirium series! Just finished Pandemonium and really loved it – Requiem is supposed to be not so good, though :/ I still think you should try Oliver’s writing style – it’s amazing!

Wow. Without exception, these are all series I want/need to start at some point, preferably ASAP but there are SO MANY BOOKS to read!

I will say that I saw Beautiful Creatures and _loved_ it, however, I believe if I had read the book before watching the movie, I would have loved the movie a little less. I guess that’s par for the course, though.

Great list, girl! Hope you get a chance to start at least some of these series soon :-)
