Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish with a different theme every week.
- Harry Potter Page to Screen by Bob McCabe – I was dying to get this for Christmas….two years ago. It looks so interesting and I’m ashamed every time I look at it that I haven’t read it.
- The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness – Aylee raved about this on her blog and I’ve been excited to read it ever since. I even got it on sale for my kindle!
- American Gods by Neil Gaiman – Another book everyone says to read and I was so excited when I got it for $1 on my kindle.
- City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare – I pre-ordered this one on my kindle because I was so excited to read the next book in this series. And then I completely forgot about it.
- A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness – A buzzed about book that I was sure I was going to read after I got it for a steal on my kindle….
- Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi – I gave away my ARC of this before I could read it for a charity auction….and then I won it again from the publisher. It’s like I’m meant to read it…
- The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater – I love Maggie’s writing. I love reading award books. I love that I got this on sale. So why haven’t I read it yet? There seems to be a pattern of me getting kindle books on sale and then not reading them….
- A Grief Observed by C.S. Lewis – I got this book way back when I was a newlywed and on a quest to read everything C.S. Lewis. It was a beautiful hardcover that I got for a steal at a library sale.
- The Help by Kathryn Stockett – I got it from the library but had to return it before I could read it. Then I got it for 10 cents. I mean you can’t even buy candy for 10 cents anymore.
- The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater – It’s even signed! It’s sitting on my shelf with a sad face as we speak.
What books did you have to buy but then haven’t read yet? Leave me links and I’ll come look!

I’ve read The Knife of Never Letting Go, American Gods, and Scorpio Races. They’re all pretty good, so when you finally get a chance to read them, you won’t be disappointed. Last year, I bought The Passage by Justin Cronin because I read good reviews about it and it was on sale. It’s been near the top of my TBR pile since, but I just haven’t gotten to it yet. Maybe this will push me to read it soon!

I looove Shatter Me, and the sequel is even better. I haven’t been able to get into The Knife Of Never Letting Go, and I’ve tried twice.

I haven’t read The Help either and I paid for it more than 50 cents ;)

I just finished American Gods (it was great) and loved A Discovery of Witches – so I’d recommend both. I keep think about the Cassandra Clare series, but I’ve never picked it up. Good luck with your list.

Oh, A Discovery of Witches is also one I need to get to. I even got an ARC of the second book. I need to read it! Oh, and The Scorpio Races! I totally forgot that one! Glad I’m not the only one who has not read Shatter Me. :) I DNF’ed The Raven Boys. I hope you like it more than I did. :) Thanks for stopping by my TTT!

Yep, AMERICAN GODS almost made my TTT list, too! The only reason it didn’t was that I hadn’t gotten through “G” before I’d filled the list. Had to narrow it down some.

I almost included The Help as well, and I NEED Mafi’s books asap! :D Great list!
Thanks for stopping by :)

I didn’t love The Knife of Never Letting Go as much as most. But I hope you’ve a better experience with it. I’ve only read City of Bones in the MI series… much to get to! Discover of Witches, The Raven Boys and Shatter Me almost made my list, too! Gah, there is no time. : )

I have never read Shatter Me either! I even own it because a friend gave it to me…shame on me! haha But I have read The Scorpio Races and highly recommend it. The writing is simply gorgeous! I enjoyed The Raven Boys too, but The Scorpio Races is awesome. :) Thanks for visiting my blog :)

City of Lost Souls, The Scorpio Races, and The Raven Boys are all on my shelf unread, too! Bleh, I swear I’ll get to them sometime! It’s just about finding the time to do so…
You could probably flip through Harry Potter Page to Screen a little bit at a time and get through it that way. It could function as a type of coffee table book in that way. I really liked it!
And EEK The Knife of Never Letting Go!! I hope you can make time for that one someday, but you will need quite a bit of time I think as it is quite emotionally heavy. But so fantastically GOOD!
Jessica Mangicaro says
I liked Scorpio Races just ok. But I don’t think I’m a big Maggie fan, since I didn’t like her Wolves of Mercy Falls either. I loved City of Lost Souls and Shatter Me though.

Um, you have got to get to the Scorpio Races! That is all. ;-)

American Gods is a quick read. Once you decide to read, it doesn’t take you a lot of time :)

I recently bought A Discovery of Witches so I’ll get to it…one day. I really need to re-read American Gods, I don’t really remember much about it. Everyone I know LOVES The Scorpio Races and even though I wasn’t the biggest fan, I can see why they love it so much. I hope you will too!
Leah @ The Pretty Good Gatsby says
American Gods is a book I love rereading. Honestly, ANYTHING of Gaiman’s. :) So yeah, I highly recommend picking it up soon!
