Reading Queue is a monthly meme where you share what books you plan to read for the month. You can hop to other blogs and see what others are reading and maybe find someone reading the same thing as you! Or you can ask for people to vote on what you should read next if you can’t decide. Reading Queue is hosted by Book Tasty and Books: A true story.
To Read
For Review:
The Chaos of Stars by Kiersten White
The summer is ending and I’ve loved the freedom of not reading any review books. But I saw this one on Edelweiss and I had to get it! I’m so glad I got approved. It comes out September 10 so I will be sure to have my review up before then. Can’t wait to read this modern take of Egyptian mythology!
For Fun:
The Cuckoo’s Calling by Robert Galbraith
I know I wasn’t a fan of The Casual Vacancy, but I’m still going to read this new book from J.K. Rowling (under the pen name Robert Galbraith) even though it’s also in a genre I don’t normally read: mystery. I’m going into it with an open mind to try out something new. I really think I could like this one. At the very least I know I’ll love the writing :)
For Book Club:
I recently joined the book club in my neighborhood and this is the book for August. And Lisa Mangum is a Utah author so it’s perfect for Utah Book Month, too!
Challenge Books:
For the Classic Double Challenge I swear I’m going to get to these! I’ve had them on my list for two months now.
Transparent by Natalie Whipple
The Invisible Man by H. G. Wells
How I Did Last Month:
Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo
DONE! It was so good. More beautiful imagery. Epicness. Tragedy. And hot pirates. If you haven’t read this series, you need to.
Dusty Book:
I finished Atlas Shrugged! It took me 1 month and 1 week to read it.
Princess Academy books 1 and 2 by Shannon Hale
FINISHED BOTH! The writing in them was so beautiful. I thought they would be fluffy kid books, but they were not. They were gorgeous and interesting. I’m going to post my reviews next month for Utah Book Month since Shannon Hale lives in Utah.
Bonus Book:
The Night Cirucs by Erin Morgenstern
This is the book club pick for my local book club for October, so I’m reading ahead. Plus I’ve run out of money for books and it was immediately available for ebook check-out at my library so I couldn’t say no (And I like reading things of my list sometimes – it’s fun). I’m about 75% done and it’s so beautiful. The plot does not move along very fast, but I find the Night Circus is so vivid and easy to imagine that it’s really keeping my interest. I’m excited to see how it ends.

Good selection this month, ill have to check some of these out myself. I know the feeling about adding books again, I still have yet to read two of my books from two months ago.
Good luck with your reading.

LOL I’m glad I’m not the only one that just keeps adding them when I don’t get around to reading them. :)

I’m looking forward to your review of The Chaos of Stars so I can decide if I should read it sooner or later. Definitely want to read it eventually. :) Thanks for the fun new meme! It will be good for me to set goals.

After Hello is a cute book! And I really liked both Princess Academy books. (I should have saved some of these for Utah book month!) I plan to get to Transparent this month, too. I’ll have to see what you think of it. :)
Jessica says
I started After Hello yesterday and it is cute so far. I’ve heard mixed things about Transparent. Hopefully it will still be a fun read. Can’t wait to see what you think too!

Really cannot wait to hear what you think of The Cuckoo’s Calling! Hopefully you’ll like it better than The Casual Vacancy (I think you will, at least a bit – it’s much less crude although still definitely adult). The mystery is great!
Jessica says
I’m really looking forward to reading it. Your review gives me hope that I will like it. :) I am really okay with adult, but crude and relentlessly depressing I can’t handle. An interesting mystery should be good though. :)
