Reading Queue is a monthly meme where you share what books you plan to read for the month. You can hop to other blogs and see what others are reading and maybe find someone reading the same thing as you! Or you can ask for people to vote on what you should read next if you can’t decide. Reading Queue is hosted by Book Tasty and Books: A true story.
To Read
Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
I read the Kite Runner and I’ve heard this one isn’t quite as jarring as the Kite Runner was. It focuses on women in Afganistan. It’s not the kind of book I usually read, so it’ll be nice to get out of my comfort zone for this one.
For The Dusty Bookshelf Challenge:
I didn’t get to these for Utah Book month last month, but I own the first two books and I got the third from the library. I better finish them all before I have to return the last book!
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Because, um, the final chapters for this book were finally released on Pottermore and I need to read all the bonus material. I hear there is a backstory for Remus Lupin and I MUST READ IT. I really enjoy re-reading these with the moment art and sounds on my computer screen and then delving into the bonus material.
That’s five books! I’m kind of freaking out that I might not be able to read that many. Wish me luck :)
Poll
Next month I want to read one of the mega popular books that everyone has read but me. But I can’t narrow it down! So I have a poll of three books I’m dying to read and I want to know which one you guys think I should read first. And feel free to leave a comment telling my why :)
How I Did Last Month
The Chaos of Stars by Kiersten White
DONE. Sadly, I didn’t like it. I will be posting my review after it comes out on September 10th because I feel bad writing a negative review before the release date.
The Cuckoo’s Calling by Robert Galbraith
DID NOT FINISH. I liked it much better than The Casual Vacancy. I thought the plot and characters were great and I was really invested in the mystery. The only reason I didn’t finish this book was because it just had too many f-words for my taste. If that’s not something that offends you, then I really recommend this one (even if it wasn’t for me).
DONE. It gave me an appreciation for contemporary romance. You can see my review of After Hello here.
Transparent by Natalie Whipple
DIDN’T START. It’s very next. I need to finish it before it goes to the library!
The Invisible Man by H. G. Wells
READING NOW. To be honest, I think this book is extremely slow and kind of boring. It took me one week to read about 30 pages. It’s picking up a little now so I hope I end up liking it.
The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate
I wasn’t planning on reading this one last month, but I was feeling really sad about not finishing Cuckoo’s Calling (I’ve only ever DNF’d 6 books). This one was on sale and it looked like a cute, fast read. It was just the thing to cheer me up with just the right dash of bittersweet and sad and hope. I’ve been recommending this book to everyone. You. You right there. You need to read this.

I want to read The Chaos of Stars but part of me is nervous about it. I loved her Paranormalcy series but wasn’t too impressed with Mind Games/Sister Assasin.
I still have to read Transparrent myself.
Good luck on this months Reading Queue
