Monthly Wrap-up

Book Reviews

Since I have the brand new Reading Challenges widget I don’t have to update my reading challenges manually anymore!! Yay! It took forever to do that.  I can’t say how happy it makes me to always see my progress in my sidebar.

So I decided to do a monthly wrap-up instead.  I can’t believe I had 7 reviews last month! No five-star books last month and my first one-star book in a long time.

  • [7 Oct] Transparent by Natalie Whipple ★★★★
  • [11 Oct] The Invisible Man by H. G. Wells ★★
  • [14 Oct] The Hourglass Door by Lisa Mangum ★★★
  • [21 Oct] The Golden Spiral by Lisa Mangum ★★
  • [22 Oct] A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini ★★★★
  • [28 Oct] The Forgotten Locket by Lisa Mangum ★
  • [29 Oct] Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs ★★★

Other Posts

I had 3 google diary posts last month and one book signing.  I also finished two reading challenges this month.  Not bad :)

  • [1 Oct] Reading Queue October
  • [2 Oct] Readers Imbibing Peril VIII
  • [3 Oct] My Google Diary for East of Eden
  • [4 Oct] October Online Events and Utah Signings
  • [10 Oct] My Google Diary for Transparent
  • [12 Oct] Classic Double Challenge: Transparent and Invisible Man
  • [16 Oct] How To Breakup With A Book
  • [18 Oct] Elizabeth Smart Book Signing

Are you going to go to any of these events? I was looking around the other day and I found this AMAZING book club in Utah. Here is the link: http://deliciousreadsbookclub.blogspot.com/

I am thinking of joining them one month when I come up to visit my parents next year. I wish there was a book club closer to me that was like this!!

I can’t go to all of them but I’m really going to try to make it to Marie Lu. I’ve seen that blog and it blows me away how much work they put into it! They did Shadow and Bone and Leigh Bardugo tweeted about it. I don’t know any of those girls in real life, but maybe I’ll meet them at a signing someday. :) If you go you have to blog about it!

I will for sure… it will probably be May of next year when I join. I’ll let you know for sure.. maybe we could go together. I don’t know any of them either… but they look like a lot of fun!

I wish I could come down to see Kevin Emerson & Marie Lu. Alas, there’s no way. Too bad they’re not on a weekend.
