How Much I Spent on Books in 2015

December 28, 2015 By Jessica Filed Under: My Reading Diary 6 Comments

Last year, I kept track of how much I spent on books in 2014 and I wanted to do it again.  I think it’s really interesting to look at all the lists and numbers – two things that this nerd loves. :)

Total Ebooks: $79.25

Total Ebooks Purchased: 23

Average per Ebook: $3.44 (was $1.91 last year)

Total Spent on Books in 2015 Overall

 $281.25

Number of books purchased: 37

Average per book overall: $7.60 (last year it was $5.53)

In all three categories how much I spent on average per book went up by a lot – especially hardcovers.  Still, an average overall of $7 a book isn’t too bad.  $281 per year comes out to about $23 a month for this hobby of mine.  Could be worse…maybe?

How much did you spend on books this year?

Oh, I don’t even want to know what I spend on books every year. I’d cry if I knew. I have noticed that book prices have jumped this year from what they used to be. Very irritating.

This is cool! I don’t even want to think about how much I spent on books this year. Maybe I’ll keep track next year. It would be interesting to see, but I also don’t want the hubby to know the dollar amount ;)

It could definitely be way worse! I truly admire your frugal-ness and I love this idea – to keep track of your book purchases and to post about it :)

I don’t know how much money I spent on books (I try not to think about that), but I apparently bought at least 409 books. Yikes. In my defense, 100 of those were from Book Outlet, 120 from cheap library sales, and another 120 from used bookstores.
It’s still really bad though. I really need to stop!
