Night Circus Book Club Ideas

Book Club Ideas for The Night Circus

October 19, 2016 By Jessica Filed Under: Book Club 2 Comments

If you’re looking for an amazing book club read that’s perfect for October, you should pick up The Night Circus (affiliate link).  Here’s a few things that we did at our Night Circus Book Club.

Decor

We were greeted with this chalkboard sign with a quote straight from the book

Then we saw a table full of food with black and white streamers to make it look like the inside of a tent.

For ambiance, she had candle warmers with a caramel scent to make it smell like the circus.  Frostbeard Studio (affiliate link with coupon for 10% off) has one specifically designed to smell just like Le Cirque Des Reves from the book.  It’s amazing!  I bought one yesterday.

Food

We had caramel apple cupcakes, quiches, spinach turnovers, Hershey’s Hugs, and of course caramel popcorn.  The Night Circus has a lot of sweets so the quiche and turnovers were for balance.  And the Hershey’s hugs looked like the striped circus tent!

Here’s a close up of the cupcakes with an apple slice and caramel drizzle on top. Yum!!

For drinks we had some Raspberry Lemonade with black and white drinking straws.  Plus the raspberries added a little pop of red to the black and white!

We all had a great time! Everyone dressed in black and white with little hints of red :)

Discussion Questions

There are a whole bunch of discussion questions from the publisher’s website.  Here are a few more that the host had:

  1. What was your favorite tent?
  2. If you could make a tent as a love letter of sorts to your spouse, what would the tent have in it?
  3. Could you imagine the clock?

You can also check out my Google Diary for the Night Circus to see real locations from the book and the inspiration for the book.

Be sure to pin this post for later!

These are some really cute ideas. I also love that they are realistic. :-)

My name is Jessica. I love to read Young Adult and classic literature. I’ve been a book blogger for six years and I haven’t gotten tired of it yet. I’m a very curious reader. Writing about all the questions and thoughts I had while reading a book is the best hobby ever.  Read more….
