Last year I spent $828.81 on books. So it’s about the same this year. This is the first year that I’ve purchased so few ebooks. I usually buy about 10-20 ebooks a year. I’ve found that I don’t enjoy reading ebooks anymore (except at bedtime which is when I read my digital scriptures). I also don’t like reading on my kindle paperwhite anymore. I prefer my iPad. The black background with white text feels a lot more comfortable to read at night. The more I read real books, the more I notice I like to stop and flip through the pages to appreciate how far I’ve read. The percentage marker in my ebook just isn’t the same. Because of that, it feels like ebooks take a lot longer to read.
Out of curiosity, I counted how many gifts and books for review I got (which I didn’t include in this post). I got 18 books as presents and 3 books for review. If I had bought those books the number would be even higher. Yikes.
Maybe one year I’ll have a New Year’s Resolution to spend less on books. But that is not this year!!!!!

You actually spent money to buy Moby Dick, lol? Okay, just kidding. I don’t think I’ll ever read that book. I don’t know if I can. It seems like it would be too boring.
I might do this this year. I think it’s a fun idea.

Wow! I just don’t want to know what I spend on books.
