In celebration of The Death Cure coming out next week, I thought I’d start a new meme in honor of it. I’m calling it Series Theories because I want you to guess what’s going to happen in the last book of a given series. FYI, this will have spoilers of the first two books. Here’s what I think will happen in The Death Cure (Book #3 of the Maze Runner Trilogy):
- They will all get their memories back.
- James Dashner will add a twist that I didn’t see coming (like he always does:)
- I think their last trial will be to come out with a drug of some sort to cure the human race of the Flare.
- I think the drug will fail and they will realize that it’s a genetic immunity.
- EVERYONE DIES – except Thomas and Teresa.
- Thomas and Teresa will have to single handedly repopulate the earth. They are only slightly upset about this.
I’m dying to know, what are your theories? (If you’ve read an advanced copy, don’t spoil the fun!)

I’m looking forward to The Death Cure, too. Excellent theories! I especially like that everyone will die. In the latest couple of books I read, I hoped the main guy would die, but unfortunately he didn’t.
I think/hope
– many people will die, especially the rest of the redshirt Gladies who never got names
– when they get to WICKED they’ll find a whole group of telepathic babies that they have to take to safety
– their last trial is to go to an island/another planet where they have to build a self-sufficient community to continue the human race
– Thomas dies and never forgave Theresa for betraying him
