The Maze Runner is an intense, action-packed thriller but at the same time manages to be so incredibly moving. I’m reading this for the second time. I know what’s going to happen, and I still get chills! Though it’s pretty intense and sometimes a little dark, it still manages to be funny with the slang that the characters use. The whole book is practically dripping with sarcasm and I loved it.
The characters are great because they are so memorable, likable, and real. I even felt myself empathize with the characters I didn’t like. While it’s a dystopian novel, it’s less about fighting a dictatorship and more about just surviving. It’s unlike any other dystopian novel that I’ve read. When I finished it, I couldn’t help wondering about how much I would fight against the impossible. Such a moving story about never giving up.
