Written in Zuzanas fun and sarcastic voice, Night of Cake and Puppets is a romantic adventure that doesn’t go as planned. The novel that this short story is from is Daughter of Smoke and Bone.  Daughter of Smoke and Bone goes from Mik and Zuzana not talking to being a couple and it was nice to have the gaps filled in by this short story. More fun with scuppy (small) magic that we only got to see a small part of in Daughter of Smoke and Bone. I wouldn’t call it a page turner or amazing or anything but it was a cute, fun read.
