This is a great novelization of The Force Awakens! Relive your favorite moments and see entirely new ones. There are more insights into the politics. There are added scenes. One added scene answered my question of what Rey’s motivation was for not selling BB-8. Some scenes are better in the movie like the scene between Finn and Poe when they first meet. The movie was so much funnier. I like the pictures in the middle of the book. I’ve never seen that in an adult novelization. There are behind the scenes photos and screenshots. The book also raises questions that the movie kind of skips over like “how did Han capture the rathtars?” Another question the book made me ask was “what is the relationship between the republic and the resistance?” There are more details to Poe’s story. We find out how he got back to the base after the tie fighter crash. I also liked learning the “science” behind starkiller base. The book also highlights the fact that Hux and Kylo Ren don’t like each other which I find so fascinating because it makes me wonder how their motives and personalities are different enough to hate each other despite being on the same side. The book also explains R2-D2 coming back a little better. Read it! It’s good!
