Dusty Bookshelf Check-in

November 5, 2012 By Jessica Filed Under: Reading Challenge 5 Comments

I just wanted to check-in with all of you and see how far you are into your challenge.  It ends next month! I’m going to have a big linky for your wrap-up posts and a giveaway, so get reading if you haven’t finished yet.  There will be extra entries for those who finish their challenge :)

I’ve only read 4 books, but I’m working on number 5.  Every year I say I want to read 20 books and I never even get halfway….I think I need to seriously lower my standards next year.

What about you? How many books left until you finish your challenge?

I’m doing pretty well on it, I think! Well, in some ways I’m doing well (I’ve read a lot of books from my shelf), but in other ways I am doing less well (I have yet to read some of my very OLDEST unread books from my shelf). Maybe it’s a sign that I should be giving my oldest books away if I’m never going to get around to reading them?

Maybe it is. :) I’m such a hoarder though and once I own it I can’t give it away unless I read it. I haven’t read very many books I own, but I have read a few that have been sitting on my shelf for 10 years! What are some of your oldest books?

I don’t know for sure, but I don’t think longer than a few years. My book buying obsession really skyrocketed with the advent of the creation of my blog, so I think it would be timed with that.

I’ve managed to get through six books so far so I’m pretty happy with that so far. I may get through one more by the end of the year hopefully.
At least I’ve made a bit of a dent in the books just gathering dust on my bookshelves!

Woohoo! Great progress. I love just making a dent in those books even if I don’t read as many as I wanted to. Thanks for checking in!
